Day Plaza
In Fulya, a central district of Istanbul, Day Plaza stands as a mixed-use building featuring five floors dedicated to office and commercial spaces, alongside 80 apartments of various sizes, a fitness and spa facility, and four floors of underground parking accommodating up to 120 cars.
Our primary challenge revolved around adhering to a building permit that mandated a rectangular structure measuring 56 meters wide and 15 meters deep. Complicating matters was a significant 30-meter elevation difference from front to back, necessitating a facade design that spanned 56 meters in width and 50 meters in height. Throughout the design process, our focus remained on integrating horizontal elements to visually reduce the building’s perceived height.
Distinct design strategies were employed for the commercial and residential sections of the building. The lower floors housing offices feature sleek, clean lines, while the upper floors, which accommodate residential units, employ a fragmented facade to harmonize with the smaller interior spaces and blend seamlessly with the surrounding architectural context.
