West Blocks

West Blocks is a residential development project in Beylikdüzü, İstanbul, about 40 km west of Istanbul city center, a recently developing residential area. Located on a major connecting road to the two main highways the site faces Büyükçekmece Lake in the southwest direction.

The project consists of three apartment blocks with 98 units each in addition to social, sports, and commercial facilities. Each block has 16 different types and sizes of apartments arranged horizontally and vertically like in the manner of Tetris game.
The context of our design was the lake view and the aim was to provide most of the apartments with a view of the lake and the surrounding countryside. Each apartment has a large front terrace facing the lake, which when planted uniformly presents a rich vertical garden.
